Editor note: Rather closed nose, still reductive, firm, tart, smoky notes, light yellow fruit, prominent mineral notes, hint of bacon. Ripe, firm, juicy, slightly off-dry fruit on the palate, yeasty, vegetal and light floral traces, hint of bacon, touch of white pepper, prominent mineral notes, lively acidity, firm grip, some depth, vibrant, very good, firm, juicy, mineral finish.
Best to drink: Mid-2020-2026+

The production area is located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and is named after the river of the same name. There is a lot of preserved evidence of the Romans, who already cultivated wine here. The vineyards cover 4,237 hectares of vines along the river from Hunsrück to the mouth of the Rhine near Bingen.
