2019 Astheim Chardonnay VDP.Ortswein trocken "R", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm and quite deep, slightly smoky bouquet with bright yellow fruity aromas, nutty tones, very delicate toasty wood notes, floral nuances and a certain minerality. Tart, fine, rather cool fruit, slightly smoky and nutty tones, also some yeast, very fine acidity, persistent, has grip, clear minerality, good depth, still undeveloped, very good, taut, tart finish, again with grip, lots of minerality and slightly smoky tones.

Best to drink: 2023-2028+. What our ratings mean
