2016 Klingenberg Schloßberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

dep, polished, firm nose, red and a few black berries, hint of cherries, elegant floral and herbaceous aromas, ethereal notes, peppery traces, herbs and pine wood. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, very fine integrated tannins, spicy oak, hint of chocolate, cola nut and some licorice, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, more ethereal notes, some sugar candy in the background, still young, sweetish and creamy, ripe, warm fruit on a very good finish. Becomes more firm with extensive aeration, shows more depth and freshness.
