2011 Süd-Steiermark Ried Kreuzberg Grauburgunder Reserve, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Old gold colour. Vegetal notes on the nose, hint of vanilla, nutty and buttery notes, melon, overripe, bruised pears, floral and herbaceous notes, some sugar candy. Ripe, preserved and overripe sweetish fruit on the palate, prominent caramel and brown butter, integrated acidity, integrated tanins, fairly light oak, persistent, noticeable high alcohol, prominent notes of cashew nuts, surprisingly good grip, huge body, salt and some smoky traces in the background, some depth, becomes more complex and elegant with aeration, very good finish. With aeration its power is surprisingly well controlled, appears to be developing positively.

Editor note: Translate to English Helles Kupfer.
