2019 Portugieser trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Dark, quite polished, somewhat smoky-reductive, nutty, tobacco and herbal scent of predominantly black berries with nuances reminiscent of laurel and Brazil nut. Ripe, quite tightly knitted fruit with nutty wood tones, sandy tannin that dries a little at first but integrates, a hint of cloves, pepper and undergrowth in the background, good persistence, a hint of cocoa and coffee, earthy-mineral tones, very good, quite tight finish.
