2019 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder trocken "Zenit", Rheingau, Germany

Very firm, deep and multi-layered aroma, quite noble scent of ripe black and also red berries with hints of cherry, tobacco, earthy nuances, herbs, hints of mushrooms and a touch of bacon. Dense, firm and tart in the mouth, still barely developed, relatively dark fruit, moderate, slightly smoky and tobacco wood notes, dark ethereal spice on the palate, herbal aromas and clear minerality, fine tannin, lasting, good depth, a touch of cocoa in the background, hints of root vegetables, very firm core, very good, tart, quite complex finish with tension. Needs time.
