2017 Freinsheim Spätburgunder VDP.Ortswein "Vom Quarzsand", Pfalz, Germany

Firm, slightly smoky and baconous nose of mixed berries with cherry aromas, some herbs, floral nuances and a hint of pepper with mineral notes in the background. Clear, quite firm, juicy and rather fresh fruit and again slightly toasty and spicy wood aromas, very fine, youthful tannin, a hint of tobacco on the palate, very slightly bacon and herbal tones, good substance and persistence, very light warmth, a hint of salt in the background, very good, juicy and spicy finish
