Editor note: Dried vegetal notes and a hint of tobacco on the nose, light earthy notes, hint of bacon, ripe red and a few black berries, nutty notes, whiff of ashes. Fairly tart frit on the palate, smoky oak, touch of ashes, fairly prominent tannins, still slightly sandy, light bite, quite full-bodied, good substance, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, hint of bacon, light spicy notes, dried herbs in the background, slightly rustic style, good to very good finish.
Best to drink: 2019-2024+

City on the Rhine in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate with about 25,000 inhabitants at the mouth of the Nahe river into the Rhine at the foot of the Rochusberg.
