The winery is located in the municipality of Angelbachtal-Michelfeld (Kraichgau area) in the German Baden
wine region. Viticulture is documented in the Hoensbroech family from 1388. In 1968, four hectares of vineyard area were acquired in Baden, which was continuously expanded. The current winery was built in 1978. It is owned by Adrian Graf von Hoensbroech. The vineyards comprise 15 hectares of vineyards in the sole ownership of the single vineyard Himmelberg
(Michelfeld). They are planted with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Limberger and Schwarzriesling as well as the white wine varieties Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Riesling, Traminer, Chardonnay and Auxerrois. The physiologically ripe grapes are selectively harvested by hand. Vinification is carried out according to the old Roman rule "Vinum sub sole, ut crescit sincerum"
(pure wine, as grown under the sun). All technical measures that lead to a change in the natural taste of the grapes are consistently rejected. The wines are vinified according to the grape variety. The winery is a founding member of the VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
