The winery is located in the community of Ehrenhausen in the Austrian wine-growing region of Southern Styria. The traditional business has been in family ownership since 1830. Today it is managed in the sixth generation by Ing. Georg and Ingrid Regele, who are both trained as wine academics. Son Franz Regele is a founding member of "SIEME - die 7 Jungwinzer aus der Südsteiermark"
The vineyards comprise 18 hectares of vineyards in the Oberglanzberg, Sulztaler Sulz and Sulztaler Zoppelberg areas. They are 90% planted with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller, Traminer, Morillon(Chardonnay),Pinot Blanc, PinotGris, Riesling and Scheurebe, and 10% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt,Pinot Noir and Blauer Wildbacher. The vineyard is maintained by hand throughout.
Through selective manual harvesting only ripe and healthy grapes are used for processing. This is carried out gently using gravity and pneumatic pressing. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or barriques. Certain white wines (Chardonnay) undergo malolactic fermentation. Among the premium wines of the house are Sauvignon Blanc Zoppelberg, a bottle-fermented sparkling wine Blanc de blancs (Chardonnay) and Traminer Zoppelberg. In addition, Schilcher (wine and sparkling wine), sparkling wines, noble brandies and, in years with suitable weather, ice wine are also produced.
