2011 Spätburgunder trocken Simonroth, Württemberg, Germany

Somewhat nutty and slightly woody aroma of ripe mixed berries with tobacco and earthy-mineral notes as well as dried-herbal hints and a hint of cassis. Firmly knit, ripe, quite juicy fruit with present, youthful but predominantly friable tannins and fine acid bite, light woody spice on the palate, dried herbal and salty mineral tones, has substance and grip, cool elements, animating, mouth watering, very good finish. Still needs to mature.
