2015 Escherndorf Am Lumpen 1655 Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Tart and quite firm, herbal citrus scent with some stone fruit, smoky nuances and distinct minerality. Taut, ripe, juicy, slightly sweet fruit, present acidity and grip of fine sandy tannin, again smoky nuances, herbs and clear minerality, lasting, has power and a certain melting, but also a lot of bite, certain warmth, good depth, very good, juicy, again grippy finish.

Editor note: Cool, polished nose, citrus and stone fruit, elegant vegetal and light yeasty as well as floral notes, prominent mineral notes, hint of lemon verbena in the background. Fairly firm, juicy, slightly off-dry fruit on the palate, lively, elegant acidity, herbaceous, floral and yeasty aromas, some bite, good persistence, still largely undeveloped, slightly rough, light salty mineral notes, hint of tobacco, not particularly deep, clear contours, very good firm finish. Needs time to mature.
