Editor note: Firm, polished and quite noble, deep yellow fruity fragrance with fine herbal and floral nuances and a hint of dark berries. Clear, juicy, slightly melting fruit, very fine acidity, a little herbal and floral nuances, good substance and persistence, certain depth, fine mineral tones in the background, still young, quite firm structure, relatively complex, rather tart spiciness, certain power, very good finish

The wine-growing region is located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and is named after the river of the same name. There is much preserved evidence of the Romans, who already cultivated wine here. The vineyards cover 4,237 hectares of vines along the river from Hunsrück to the mouth of the Rhine at Bingen. Near Bingen, the Benedictine abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) founded the Rupertsberg monastery.
