2018 trocken Cuvée "Ego", Burgenland, Austria

Tart, quite firm, somewhat earthy and dried-vegetable scent of ripe black berries with dark woody and somewhat dried-vegetable notes, a hint of juniper and citrus zest. Firmly woven, dark tart, ripe, very dark fruit with lots of sooty and smoky wood spice, nutty tones, dark chocolate and tobacco, present, still somewhat drying tannin, coffee grounds and some pepper, plenty of power and noticeable alcohol, some depth, some acid bite, salty notes in the background, very good finish, again with tart juicy black fruit and lots of sooty roasty wood.
