2020 Ungstein Scheurebe VDP.Ortswein trocken "SP", Pfalz, Germany

Quite firm, rather tart, nutty, woody and slightly dried mushroomy nose with restrained yellow fruity aromas, nuts, root vegetables and earthy tones. Firmly woven, ripe, very tart, still clearly woody fruit, smoky notes, mushrooms and some bacon, some acid bite, grippy, first slightly drying tannin, with air then clearly more juice, good substance and persistence, black berry flavours, has power and warmth, some nut butter, increasingly mineral tones, very good, dense, slightly warm finish. Needs to mature.
