2013 Riesling trocken Landgeflecht, PJK.Unikat, Rheingau, Germany

Nutty and somewhat smoky honey scent with aromas of very ripe yellow fruits, a little resinous herbs, yellow spice, orange zest, Earl Grey and a little celery and hints of fennel. Firmly knitted, very dry fruit, nutty, slightly smoky and yellow-spicy aromas, again also Earl Grey and resinous herbs, also dried flowers, slightly buttery and hints of caramel, lots of grip of ripe tannin and fine acidity, clear minerality, nutmeg and a little celery, has power and a certain depth, very good, firm, noticeably phenolic finish with a hint of Chayenne pepper.

Editor note: Deep, complex nose, yellow spice, vegetal and intense mineral notes, yellow fruit, some melon, hint of honey, dried floral traces, touch of sugar candy. Ripe, firm, basically dry fruit on the palate, smoky and nutty notes, elegant vegetal aromas, light herbaceous notes, prominent earthy and mineral notes, concentrated, persistent and deep, fairly warm style, touch of mushrooms in cream, cranberries, nutty notes, hint of Iberico ham, very unusual, still largely undeveloped, yeasty notes, some sugar candy, delicate hint of tobacco, very good, long finish. Quite different from anything alse one expects from a Riesling.
