The winery is located in the municipality of Bruttig-Fankel (area of Burg Cochem) in the German Moselle
wine growing region. The traditional family has been growing wine here since 1625. The vineyards comprise almost three hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Götterlay, Pfarrgarten and Rathausberg (Bruttig), Herrenberg (Valwig), as well as Rosenberg (Fankel). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (85%), Müller-Thurgau and Elbling. Some of these are grown in the terraced steep slopes with their roots firmly
planted. The cultivation is consequently close to nature and environmentally friendly. The wines are fermented spontaneously
exclusively with the vineyard's own yeasts and matured in steel tanks or 1,000-litre barrels
, mostly dry and fine-tangy. In years with suitable weather conditions there are also noble sweet Trockenbeerenauslese
. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (marc, yeast, wine), liqueurs, wine vinegars and grape juice are also produced. About 35,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
