The winery is located in the municipality of Obernbreit ( Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. After training as a winemaker and oenologist as well as stations in various wineries, the business is run by Christian Ottenbreit. According to the philosophy of the house, authentic wines are vinified with responsibility, awareness and love for nature and the environment. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Sonnenberg (Marktbreit) and Kanzel (Obernbreit). They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Domina, as well as the white wine varieties Silvaner, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau and Scheurebe. The farm is currently in the process of converting to organic viticulture.
Depending on the type of wine, the wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks, in new and used barrique barrels or, as a speciality, in Georgian clay amphorae(Kvevri) according to an old vinification method. They are produced without any additives and without fining with the aim of producing unadulterated wines. The white wines are aged for a long time on full le es with bâtonnage (constant stirring of the lees). The fermentation of the wines is partly spontaneous with natural, vineyard-own yeasts and without Filtrationfiltration before bottling. The winery is a member of the Winzervereinigung Generation Riesling.
