The winery is located in the community of Wachenheim (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Pfalz
. It was acquired in the early 1990s by Thomas Hensel, who renovated the historic estate building. Andreas Schumann is the manager of the estate. The 20-hectare farm consists of half mixed forest and a quarter of meadows and vineyards. The vineyards cover five hectares in the single vineyard Odinstal (Wachenheim), which is in sole possession of the estate. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois and Gewürztraminer. The cultivation is carried out according to the guidelines of biodynamic viticulture
. Through appropriate measures the yield is reduced to a maximum of 50 hl/ha. The fermentation is done with spontaneous yeasts
. The flagship of the house is Riesling Basalt, other top wines are Riesling Buntsandstein and Silvaner Muschelkalk. The heart of the production are the 350 N.N. wines named after the highest point of the estate.
