2019 Vulkanland Steiermark DAC Sauvignon Blanc trocken Alte Reben, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Deep, distinctly herbal-planty citrus-stone fruit scent with a little nettle, floral nuances, delicate smoke and black berry hints, mustard seed, hints of ethereal spice and distinct minerality. Firmly knitted, juicy, dense fruit, very fine, lively acidity and lots of grip of crumbly tannin, a little dark berries and again ethereal herbs on the palate, persistent, deep and complex, distinct minerality, has power and tension, some fennel in the background, a hint of anise, very good to long, juicy and spicy finish with some warmth but also cooling mineral flavours as well as a little tobacco.
