The winery is located in the community of Landau-Godramstein (area Südliche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Palatinate
. Jakob Kessler acquired one of the vineyards at the Münzberg, which gave its name, at the end of the 19th century. In 1974, his grandson Lothar Kessler moved the family estate with residential and business premises to the Münzberg in the middle of the vineyards. His sons Rainer and Gunter Kessler continue the family tradition today as cellar masters. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the Münzberg
single vineyard location. They are planted with the white wine varieties Weißburgunder, Riesling, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Grauburgunder, Müller-Thurgau and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Spätburgunder and Dornfelder.
The white wines typical of the variety ferment and mature primarily in steel tanks. The Chardonnays and red wines are aged in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (fruit, marc, yeast) and liqueurs are also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) and the association "Fünf Winzer und Fünf Freunde aus der Südpfalz".
