2017 Asselheim St.Stephan Frühburgunder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Fairly tart nose, hint of mushrooms and bacon, vegetal notes, mixed berries and a few cherries, floral traces. Ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, toasted, sooty, spicy oak, fairly prominent integrated, ripe tannins, good persistence, high level of alcohol, light malted notes and some juniper, ethereal notes, not particularly deep, jammy notes, cake spice, slightly noticeable alcohol again on a good to very good finish.
