2018 Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Clear, quite polished and firm, with air gaining depth, the fragrance of ripe red berries, a little blueberry and cherry with delicate mushroom notes, Mediterranean herbs and a hint of juniper. Ripe, melted, juicy fruit, crumbly tannin and delicate acid bite, floral nuances, animating freshness on the palate, lasting, certain depth, a hint of salt, becomes noticeably firmer on the air and gains in complexity and depth, very good, juicy and finely spiced finish with herbal and juniper nuances. Shows what it can do only on the second day
