The winery is located in the community of Bad Kreuznach in the district of Bosenheim in the German Nahe wine region. Founded in 1828, the estate has been managed since 2003 by Roland Mees (master winemaker) and Dagmar Mees (consultant for German wine) in the seventh generation of the family. Son Lukas successfully completed his training as a winemaker in 2013. The vineyards comprise 14 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Paradies and Rosenberg (Bad Kreuznach). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Muskat-Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc, Huxelrebe, Bacchus, Kanzlerrebe and Scheurebe, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser and Dunkelfelder

Only yield-reduced, healthy and physiologically ripe grape material is processed. The wines are aromatically developed with gentle cellar technology. The white wines ferment slowly and controlled in stainless steel. The red wines mature after traditional mash fermentation in large wooden barrels. A wide range of Prädikat wines from Spätlese to Beerenauslese is produced; in suitable years also Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein. Other products are a Blanc de noirs (white wine made from red grapes), Weißherbste, bottle-fermented , Secco (sparkling wine) and grape juices.
