The traditional winery is located in the community of Kernen-Stetten (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of
Württemberg. The Medinger family has been cultivating wine since 1764. After Barbara Medinger-Schmid graduated as a state-certified viticulture technician in Weinsberg, the independent cultivation and marketing of wines began in 1988. The vineyards cover more than five hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Altenberg and Sonnenbühl (Strümpfelbach), as well as Häder, Lindhälder,
Mönchberg and
Pulvermächer (Stetten). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner and Chardonnay, as well as the red wine varieties Trollinger, Lemberger, Dornfelder, Regent, Spätburgunder, Schwarzriesling, Cabernet Cubin and Acolon. Environmentally friendly viticulture is practiced with for example

predatory mites for pest control, as well as the use of fungus-resistant grape varieties. The white wines are vinified in steel tanks, the red wines mature for six to twelve months in large oak barrels, and in some cases for 18 to 24 months in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced
