2019 Retzbach Benediktusberg Spätburgunder VDP.Erste Lage trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Clear red and black berry nose with cherry notes, plum roast, hints of root vegetables juniper and sesame. Tart fruit with smoky wood notes, pepper, dried herbs and noticeable salt, certain acid bite, present, fine sandy, somewhat drying tannin, smoky to bacon notes, a little roasted onion, again also plums, very good, firm, peppery and still slightly drying finish.

Best to drink: Ende 2023 bis 2027+. What our ratings mean
