2016 Retzstadt Langenberg Silvaner Grosses Gewächs trocken Himmelspfad, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Still a little restless, slightly herbaceous-reductive, firmly woven pome fruit-citrus scent with intense, earthy minerality, some dry herbs and peppery spice. Ripe, firm, juicy fruit with tart earthy-mineral as well as slightly smoky and bacon flavours, lively acidity, noticeable, still a little drying tannin, some salt on the palate and again also peppery spice, good substance and persistence, has grip, just seems a little rough at the moment, nutty hints, very slightly floral, melon traces, very good finish with some laurel.
