2014 Bermatingen Leopoldsberg Spätburgunder trocken Grosses Gewächs, B, Baden, Germany

Tart, cool, straightforward nose, black and red berries, herbaceous and dried floral aromas, earthy and mineral notes, hint of bacon. Tart fruit on the palate, smoky, toasted oak, dried vegetal notes and some tobacco, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, persistent, quite full-bodied, noticeable warm alcohol, earthy notes, hint of bacon again, leathery traces, warm and slightly astringent on a good to very good finish.
