The winery is located in the community of Traben-Trarbach (Bernkastel area) in the German Mosel
wine region. The family history goes back 450 years. At the beginning of the 1920s, a branch of the Kröver winegrowing family Kilian Klein was established here. At the end of the 1960s, Louis Klein took over the management of the Traben-Trarbach winery. Since the beginning of 2009, the business has been managed by daughter Ulrike Boor and her husband Markus. He converted his own business to organic cultivation in 2001. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Königsberg, Paradies and Würzgarten (Traben), Schatzgarten (Wolf), Hubertuslay (Kinheim), as well as Paradies and Steffensberg (Kröv). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Rivaner, Pinot Blanc and Kerner, and with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Dorio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Dornfelder. The cultivation is carried out according to guidelines. In the deep rock cellar the white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in barriques. The product range includes various Rieslings, which are produced as Classic
, Riesling Hochgewächs
, Auslese and Beerenauslese. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble spirits (marc, yeast, fruit).
