2015 Nierstein Orbel Riesling trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Slightly sharp nose, prominent vegetal notes, touch of mutred bell peppers and artichokes, earthy notes, hint of sulphur, restrained yellow fruit, with aeration shows some tart mineral notes. Still slightly muted on the palate, ripe, partly dried, delicately sweet fruit, spicy, nutty oak, vegetal notes, some chocolate, fairly prominent acidity, noticeable tannins, sweetish and creamy, hint of bacon, some sugar candy, good substance and persistence, initially still slightly chunky, but becomes significantly more juicy with aeration, light sulphurous notes, full body, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, touch of carbon dioxide, herbaceous notes, hint of boiled sweets, after a restless start it is much more harmonious on the second day, very good finish.
