2014 Spätburgunder trocken Reserve, Rheinhessen, Germany

Tart nose, light earthy and vegetal notes, sour cherries and mixed berries, some mushrooms, hint of coffee and floral traces. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, fairly dark, tart cherry and berry fruit, smoky and toasted oak, light acid bite, fairly prominent tannins, still slightly astringent, vegetal notes, earthy and mineral notes, some coffee grounds in the background, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, but also has cool elements, fairly concentrated, only slightly brittle, improves with aeration, very good tart, juicy finish.
