The winery is located in the municipality of Nierstein ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. After internships at several renowned wineries and graduating from Geisenheim in 2011, Lisa Bunn was first responsible for the cellar and then took over the business two years later from her parents Georg and Eva Bunn, already the fourth generation of the family. Today, the family business is run by Lisa Bunn and her husband Bastian Strebel, who trained as a viticultural technician in Bad Kreuznach.
The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Hipping, Ölberg and Orbel (Nierstein) along the Rhine front (Roter Hang), Fraugarten (Wintersheim), Tafelstein (Dienheim), and Himmelthal (Guntersblum). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, St. Laurent, Merlot and Blauer Portugieser. Harvesting is principally done by selective hand-picking to ensure healthy and physiologically ripe grapes.
The extensive product range is divided into the lines Lieschenwein, Gutswein, Ortswein, Lagenwein and Reserve. The wines are partly vinified with a long maceration period, spontaneous fermentation and long storage on the full lees and bottled without filtration: Depending on the type of wine, they are matured in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden barrels, or in barriques (used or new). The premium wines are Hipping Riesling, Orbel Riesling, Oelberg Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc Fumé. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine is also produced. Around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of Generation Riesling, Roter Hang, Rheinhessenwein and Pro Riesling.
