2014 Weisenheim Goldberg trocken Der Goldberg, Pfalz, Germany

Fairly cool, delicately tart nose, predominantly black berries and some cherries, light smoky oak, earthy and mineral notes, dried vegetal aromas. Fairly firm, tart, ripe fruit on the palate, smoky, toasted oak, slightly bitter, fine sandy tannins, slightly astringent, good substance and persistence, hint of tobacco, light earthy notes in the background, peppery traces, good grip, hint of bacon, salty mineral traces, cocoa and coffee, very good spicy, fairly juicy finish.
