2014 Weisenheim Goldberg Portugieser trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Light smoky and toasted notes on the nose, red and black berries, delicate herbaceous traces, hint of tobacco, spicy traces. Fairly firm, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, smoky, toasted oak, light acid bite, fairly prominent youthful tannins, firm structure, persistent, candied nuts, some pepper and a hint of dried herbs, salty mineral notes in the background, still largely undeveloped, some depth, juicy and grippy on a very good finish. Very well made.
