2022 Merlot trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Warm, quite firm, polished and precise nose with dark berries and a hint of cherries, reminiscent of good dark tobacco, leather, pepper, and grilled vegetables. Bitter, juicy, and taut in the mouth, dark, ripe, polished fruit with some toasty, vanilla, and nutty wood aromas, a hint of bittersweet chocolate and suggested mocha, crumbly, still present tannin, good substance and sustainability, salty and earthy minerality, in the background again grilled vegetables and hinted dried tomatoes, good depth, becomes noticeably juicier with air, very good finish with grip.
