2017 Merlot trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, relatively cool, somewhat smoky aroma of predominantly black berries with some earthy and very slightly cedary aromas. Tight, tart dark fruit, slightly smoky and toasty wood aromas, a hint of bacon, peppery notes, certain acidity, present, tight tannin, persistent on the palate, herbal nuances, a hint of dried tomatoes, salt in the background, has a certain coolness despite its power, good depth, still young, a hint of tar, very good, tight, tangy and spicy, also mineral finish with bite again.
