2019 Spätburgunder Reserve "Devonschiefer - R", Ahr, Germany

Firm, clear and cool, deep and complex aroma of red and black berries with slightly smoky to bacony, dried floral and delicately herbal aromas as well as earthy to mineral tones. Dense, knitted, tangy, noble fruit, smoky to bacony notes, some nutty and tobacco wood notes, a little pepper, dried herbs and hints of tar, present, yet very fine tannin, dense, deep and complex on the palate, yet almost cool, a hint of malt and dark chocolate in the background, tart tobacco flavours, intense minerality, very good to long finish. Great.
