2003 trocken Ca Sa Nova, Ahr, Germany

Black and some red berries on the nose, licorice and some malted notes, vegetal notes and spicy oak. More spicy oak on the palate, partly preserved black berries and some red berries, sandy tannins, quite persistent, full-bodied, some chocolate and coconut, attractive to good finish.

Editor note: Nutty oak and chocolate dominate the nose, behind this some berries and malted notes. Sweetish, dissolute berry fruit, soft and harmonious, oak with more nutty notes and chocolate, prominent dusty and astringent tannins detract from the wine on an otherwise attractive finish. In spite of the oak this is a crowd pleaser, but shows no varietal character nor any origins.
