2015 Blaufränkisch trocken Leithakalk, Burgenland, Austria

Firm nose, black berries and cherries, touch of dried herbs, tobacco and some peppery spice, light mineral notes, hint of bay leaf and leather in the background. Firm, tart, dark fruit on the palate, hint of tobacco and cedar, light peppery notes, hint of bacon, light acid bite, firm, youthful tannins, persistent, full body, but also has cool elements, smoky oak, reined-in power, salty notes in the background, very good firm, tart finish.
