2015 Ried Setz trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, deep, complex nose, partly preserved black berries and a few cherries, dried herbs, earthy and mineral notes, hint of bacon, peppery traces and other dark spices, prominent mineral notes. Fairly firm, tart, juicy, ripe, dark fruit on the palate, hint of bacon, herbaceous, nutty and earthy aromas, some licorice and dark chocolate, more peppery spice, full body, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, prominent coffee notes, salty notes in the background, becomes more approachable with aeration, and gains depth, very good, firm, spicy finish with loads of ripe dark fruit.
