2012 Ried Point trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, fairly tart nose, light earthy and vegetal notes, sour cherries and black berries, delicate smoky notes and some old oak, herbaceous traces and mineral notes. Firm, full-bodied and juicy ripe dark fruit on the palate, some sugar candy, smoky, toasted oak, fine sandy tannins, still slightly astringent, some licorice in the background, black earthy notes, full-bodied, good persistence, light bite, some depth, light minty traces, still young, earthy and mineral notes in the background, very good, very slightly jammy finish.
