2004 Ried Point trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Fairly open nose, quite deep with mixed berries and preserved cherries, floral nuances, some dried herbs and roasted oak in the background. Full-bodied, concentrated and juicy, slightly tart but nevertheless ripe fruit on the palate, smoky, roasted oak, slightly sandy and slightly astringent tannins, persistent, firm structure, mineral notes, light acid bite, good depth and length. Needs time to mature.
