2016 Appenheim Weißburgunder trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Smoky, herbal and somewhat bacony nose of ripe bright yellow fruit, yeasty notes and a little flint. Ripe, firm, juicy fruit, yeasty, smoky and fresh-vegetable aromas, lively, yet polished acidity, persistent and dense on the palate, moderate tannin grip, firm construction, some depth, still very young, light minerality in the background, very good, tight, fresh, juicy finish with traction.
