2015 Endingen Engelsberg Spätburgunder Reserve ***, Baden, Germany

Light dried herbs and a hint of bacon on the nose, red and a few black berries, hint of tobacco, dried floral and spicy traces. Tart, clear, fairly firm fruit on the palate, smoky and nutty notes, prominent fresh herbs, earthy and salty traces, youthful fine, sandy tannins, light acid bite, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, but also has cool elements, becomes softer and broader with aeration, not particularly deep, very slightly brittle, good to very good tart finish.
