The winery is located in the municipality of Hainfeld in the German wine-growing region of the Palatinate
. The family history goes back 350 years. A Wolf Klein was documented as having bought a vineyard on the "12th day of the year. Augusti anno 1659" mentioned. In its present form, the winery was founded by Georg and Katharina Klein and has been in its original location since 1886. Today it is managed in the fifth generation by Gerhard and Sieglinde Klein. The vineyards cover 16 hectares in the Altenforst (Burrweiler), Kapelle, Kirchenstück and Letten (Hainfeld) areas. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner and Scheurebe, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, St. Laurent, Portugieser, Dornfelder and Dunkelfelder. We work according to the guidelines of controlled environmentally friendly viticulture
. Great importance is attached to yield reduction through thinning out
and selective harvesting of healthy, ripe grapes. The young wine is separated from the lees without mechanical stress to preserve the natural carbonic acid. The white wines are aged in stainless steel, the red wines in wooden barrels or in barriques.
