Firm, very slightly ethereal aroma of partly preserved ripe dark berries and cherries with dried herb notes, some bacon, dried flowers and pepper. Ripe, warm, somewhat compote fruit, lots of bitterly toasty wood with coffee and cocoa notes, present, crumbly, sandy tannin, persistent on the palate, spicy, nutty and a touch sooty, lots of alcohol, rather rustic type, very good, if somewhat drying finish.
