2019 Westhofen Riesling VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Very firm and deep, still undeveloped, somewhat smoky aroma with restrained, bright yellow fruity aromas, a little herbs, nutty traces and already in the nose intense minerality. Dense and juicy in the mouth, ripe, noble, barely developed fruit with lively acidity and plenty of grip from fine, ripe tannins, persistent and light on its feet for all its concentration, herbal and floral nuances, a hint of red berries, yeasty and smoky hints, has tension and depth, multi-layered, long, gripping finish with plenty of juice and minerality as well as enormous draw. Makes one stunned to some extent
