2019 Riesling trocken "G-Max", Rheinhessen, Germany

Deep and dense, almost calm, highly refined, somewhat planty to herbal, also delicately floral, hints of ethereal fragrance with citrus aromas, some stone fruit, still clearly yeasty tones, maritime notes reminiscent of seaweed and mussel shells, ginger, hints of white pepper and lots of minerality. Taut and tart in the mouth, bright, very tightly knit, rather restrained fruit, very present, fine acidity, lots of grip, abundant salty-chalky, alabaster-like minerality, persistent and dense, at first enormous tension, but with air then also radiating a certain calmness on the palate, still completely undeveloped, again clearly ginger, also kimchi and a little turmeric, deep, highly noble, downright silky texture, yet with an extremely firm core, incredibly long finish with still plenty of yeast, beguiling, cool, bright juice, ginger, yellow spice and again gripping minerality. Needs a lot of maturity. A wine of the century that can hardly be adequately described with words
