2019 Dalsheim Hubacker Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Cool, taut and deep, finely herbal and still noticeably yeasty, very mineral nose with noble, yet concentrated citrus aromas, some apple, fine yellow spice, ginger and floral tones, mussel shells, iodine, a hint of tobacco and nutty traces. Firmly woven, concentrated and juicy, bright fruit reminiscent of vineyard peach, distinct nutty yeasty aromas, dried vegetal to light tobacco tones, plenty of grip from ripe tannin, compact construction, vegetal nuances in the background, a hint of seaweed and crustaceans, again mussel shells, very slightly sweet melting, cool and warm elements, umami, reminiscent of morels and shiitake, deep, complex, dense and long, with melting and at the same time tension. Stunning, certainly the strongest Hubacker so far; but must necessarily mature
