2020 Osthofen Goldberg Riesling, Rheinhessen, Germany

Somewhat vegetal and yellow-spicy nose with aromas of ripe, partly candied yellow fruits and a little pickled ginger as well as floral tones. Juicy, ripe fruit with yellow spice and slightly nutty tones, lively, fine acidity, mellow tannin, some warmth and slight sweetness, some candied ginger, very good, juicy, spicy and grippy finish with a little root vegetable. Currently rather unapproachable.

Editor note: Somewhat herbal and a touch floral, rather taut, rather light stone fruit scent with citrus nuances, a hint of yeast and quite distinct minerality. Ripe, juicy, largely dry fruit, herbal to tobacco, yeasty and clearly tart mineral notes, persistent on the palate, firm structure, good substance and a certain depth, persistent, still young, very fine yet present acidity that also provides backbone, very good, firm finish with juice and plenty of minerality.
